the “basic behavior” series went from 2019-2021-ish.
it had a lot to do with the typical sub·sist·ent habits that are shared between the human and the non-speaking animal/plant. the series was not-so-subtle commentary on the ways in which people bastardize and problematize activities such as, sleeping, eating, fucking, etc. the scenes pretty much always took on a ‘cage’-like formation because
we need an isolated stage to observe the mess.
below is a selection of drawings all in wax pastel. (for scale, each is at least 2’ in one direction.)
The title of this work: "Millennial Sex Dungeon" (My sister is 'millennial' peak. An aggressive sexual. Trapped in a individualistic wallpaper that lines a dungeon. ("Dungeon": Middle English (also with the sense ‘castle keep’): from Old French (perhaps originally with the sense ‘lord's tower’ or ‘mistress tower’), based on Latin dominus ‘lord, master’.) My sister likes to lord-fuck men a lot. Hence "Millennial Sex Dungeon".
